My name is Ahmad “Shah” Mohibi. I was born and raised in Afghanistan, grew up around war and poverty, later became an American, and spent much of my career working with and supporting the U.S. government on national security, crisis response, and international affairs.
About ten years ago, I started Rise to Peace because I believed young people affected by conflict should have a platform to research, write, learn from one another, and confront violence through ideas rather than violence itself.
For most of that decade, I have sustained this work alongside my professional career, largely through my own resources and individual supporters. We have not built Rise to Peace around large government contracts or foreign funding. I am asking, humbly, for your help so this work can continue and grow responsibly.
