The Salam Fellowship Program

Rise to Peace invites talented individuals to join our prestigious Salam Fellowship Program. This program offers exceptional opportunities for learning, growth, and engagement with leading experts, scholars, and emerging leaders in the field.

Since its inception in 2017, the Salam Fellowship Program has supported over 670 young scholars, providing them with invaluable exposure to current international security issues and facilitating meaningful interactions with industry professionals. Many of our program alumni have gone on to establish successful careers in research, intelligence, international security, education, and policy-making.

We welcome applications from professionals, undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. students who are pursuing degrees in international relations, political science, economics, or other related fields. Applicants should possess excellent writing and research skills, along with a basic understanding of computer applications.

Job Posting: Research Fellow/Intern

Position: Research Fellow/Intern Location: Remote

Rise to Peace is currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Research Fellows/Interns. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for those considering a career in government, international relations, counter-terrorism, and international security fields. As a Research Fellow/Intern, you will have the unique chance to learn about current international security issues, interact with field experts, scholars, and young upcoming leaders, and contribute to our global projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research, policy analysis, and write reports on various aspects of counter-terrorism and extremism.
  • Assess foreign and domestic terrorist groups, as well as lone-wolf terrorists, to identify specific threats and contribute to preemptive measures.
  • Collaborate with team members to support ongoing research projects and initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of policy recommendations and strategies to combat extremism and terrorism.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of terrorism and counter-terrorism.
  • Assist with data processing and entry of global terrorism attacks into databases.
  • Promote and execute events and panels.
  • Contribute to campaigns and social media efforts.
  • Attend weekly meetings and check-ins.
  • Conduct in-depth research on funding possibilities for programs and initiatives.
  • Assist with the development of program-specific grant proposals.
  • Assist with fundraising and event planning initiatives.
  • Identify new donors and cultivate relationships with sponsors and funders.
  • Represent Rise to Peace to donors and supporters.
  • Network effectively to maximize opportunities for funding and development.
  • Maintain organized records of activities and contacts.
  • Assist with marketing and communication strategies related to fundraising.

Requirements: Research Fellow (Masters/Professional):

  • Graduate student or possess an M.A. in international relations, political science, economics, or related fields (further graduate education preferred).
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, research, and writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in international affairs, peace-building, and security.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Research Intern (Undergraduate):

  • Undergraduate student or possess a B.A. in international relations, political science, economics, or related fields (further graduate education preferred).
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, research, and writing skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency.
  • Demonstrated interest in international affairs, peace-building, and security.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
